About

Now:

New avatars deserve new write-ups and so here’s an update on me:

I’m still Dr Hema Vaidyanathan, PhD, with an MBA against my name too, now. I live in Bangalore India, and have for a very long time. I’m the proud mom of one adult and one teenager and have quite given up dancing except at the gym or a very fun party with friends. Since Amma’s Tales, I’ve worked in 4 companies, and built my own learning company too, called Klapklap. I’m currently writing freelance, creating communities for women and rekindling my love for all things mythic and epic! My novel isn’t ready yet but I’ve written some other nice stuff and I’m quite determined this shall be the year of THE book! Wish me luck 🤞

Then (2007 thereabouts):

So, my hosting service urges I update my about page so all you readers know more about me and mine. So here goes:

The Wag is actually Hema Vaidyanathan, current hausfrau and PhD in biochemistry/cell biology. With my husband and two children, I exist in Bern, Switzerland and when I am not travelling or eating fondue, I am writing this blog. I am also an dancer/performer of Indian classical dance. I love to read anything I can get my hands on and will listen to any kind of music. When I have my novel ready I will also let the world know about it…

Amma’s Tales is a blog based on remembrances from my family of tales about Indian mythology. They are stories passed down at least three generations. Some are my original creations. All of them have been reimagined/retold by me. I hope you have as good a time reading them as I do writing them down. Please do not plagiarize and these are my copyright. If you would like to use any of these for public consumption/distribution, it’s easy enough to contact me for my permission.
