Animal Tales

Here at Amma’s Tales, we’re constantly striving to find material suitable for young children in mythology. You know, the ones that are low on violence, high on amusement value. Easy? Hah! Really hard to find since our epics seem particularly strewn with gore!  But we’ve taken some time to figure out stories that mostly conform to the two rules: low/no violence, high amusement, funny heroes (Hanuman, Ganesha and the like). Some other stories that lend themselves easily to very young listeners/readers are the ones that involve animals, preferably talking ones!! So here’s a list of tales on this website that are great to amuse children at and over the age of three. They are mostly about nature: animals, birds and trees and some about mythology and a little original fable for the fussy eater. Many or all of these have been 4-year-old tested! Happy reading, as always!
